We recommend using paint protection film under the front and rear fairings, where they contact the vehicle. This will prevent dirt and debris from scratching the paint over time.

Q Greg • 08/04/2020, 0:03:29 AM I have a 2007 Limited 4th gen 4 Runner with a stock roof rack that has about .25" clearance as I drive into my garage. Is this rack equal to or lower in height than what I have. I understand that your rack is 2.5 inches from the highest point of the roof but I need to be 100% confident before purchasing.
A 08/05/2020, 11:51:45 AM We wouldn't risk it if you are that close.
Q Fred Capati • 08/13/2020, 1:36:00 AM What's the recommended torque in tightening the bolts?
                    A 08/14/2020, 9:30:53 AM 60-70 inch-pounds (in∙lb) should be fine on everything.
Q Jude Y. • 08/16/2020, 1:57:51 AM I have a Gobi ladder on my 2020 4runner, does this work with it or do I have to do some modifications?
A 08/18/2020, 11:15:37 AM There may be some contact between the items with the hatch fully opened.
Q Daniel Pokrop • 08/16/2020, 11:45:05 PM I have a 2020 4Runner with moonroof. I’d prefer the full length rack, although it would likely impede the moonroof. Would it be possible to leave out the crossbars above the moonroof for daily driving, and install them only for trips where I’d need to use the full rack space?
A 08/18/2020, 11:15:37 AM The moonroof functions fine with the full rack.
Q Carlos • 08/22/2020, 3:14:19 PM Is the roof rack substantially increase noise when on the highway with the light cutout? Does this rack come with any noise reduction trim?
A 08/26/2020, 10:01:29 AM The rack does come with noise reduction trim. The added noise from the rack is negligible.

                    Great Addition to any 4runner
                    (Miami, FL) | July 24th, 2023
I bought the full rack w/light cut out for my 2013 4Runner Limited w/sunroof. I literally built the rack (Following to install Video) in my living room, where it sat for ten days due to the non-stop rain. I installed it (Following the install video) on the roof of my 4Runner with my daughter’s help & bolted it down using the supplied hardware & Ultra Black Permatex. It’s was very easy to put together & install, just a little tedious.
                    Excellent Product

This rack is great. It took the full 15 days before being shipped. I almost called on day 15. ha. It's been installed and on my 4Runner for a couple of months now. install was easily accomplished on my own, easy to follow. I probably could've used a second set of hands when getting the rack on the 4runner, but its not entirely necessary. Driving around on the highway for work doesn't seem to change road noise or MPG much. Looks great! Definitely get some questions about from others i know with 4runners. It wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that we started using the rack to carry equipment. We have an SR5 with a third row since we have 4 kids. For the type camping trips we enjoy the roof rack was mandatory. It didn't disappoint for our trail trip up to Wisconsin for some bouldering. So easy to strap equipment down (crash pads, tent, water, duffels, chairs, etc). I decided to put my gear in fully water proofed duffels to keep a lower profile. with the roof rack nearly fully occupied I only needed 4 ratchet straps. So easy to attach to the side rails of the rack and the latch on really tight. Even with the rack loaded up with gear going 70mph we we were still in the 17-18mpg range. I did notice that the black coating can scratch fairly easily so be careful with that. I had some tree trimming/felling equipment up there and quickly learned that I'll need to do a better job of placing some protective cloth down next time. I'll be back for more products as the budget allows. Thinking a ladder is going to be more efficient with this rack. While climbing the side of the vehicle and standing on the edge of the rack gets the job done, a ladder will be helpful, especially since it'll allow for some extra gear to be strapped on the back. Thanks for the quality work!
                    Nice rack

It’s been awhile since I’ve had the rack on the 4Runner. It has completely changed the looks of the 4Runner. I put it together by myself no problem. Then my wife helped me set it up on the 4Runner easy peasy, several of the threaded holes had paint in them so it took a little longer than it should but still not a big deal. Later on plan on getting a canopy to put on the rack. I didn’t get the light bar cutout. When you get up to 70 is when you can hear the wind noise pretty good. Wish there was an option to add a picture of it to show how good it looks
                    5th gen roof rack
                    (Green Bay, WI) | June 12th, 2022
In my opinion the cleanest and best roof rack for the 5th gen 4Runner! Install was a breeze and victory4x4’s install doc and video was very detailed. I opted for an entry level 40” light bar and it still fit perfectly. I will be purchasing all my products from victory from here on out.

This is a very high quality rack. Only one issue--one end of one of the cross bars wasn't tapped for the assembly screws. No problem for me as I had the tap. Because I had to install the rack by myself, I chose to install the roof brackets first (separately,) and then I assembled the rack components to the brackets. This worked fine, and I was able to ensure an exceptional seal on each bracket to the roof this way with clear silicone. One other point, you must adjust the height of the side rails to ensure that the front and rear fairings will make firm contact with the roof. I had to adjust my rack a couple of times to ensure the proper height for proper roof contact.
                    Good but a little noisy
                    (Chicago) | May 29th, 2022
Originally I purchased a smaller 3/4 rack from n-fab and I really wanted a full size roof rack. I went with victory based on reviews and reading other testimonies that it was a solid rack. I gave it a 4/5 due to two flaws. The front fairing is made of thin (1/4”?) aluminum that vibrates when you drive on the highway. The solution is to put 3m tape on the paint and lower the fairing so that it rides on the roof of your car. Not ideal but it works. Second issue is the front footing sits in the gutters on the truck. The side to side movement cause a scratch to the paint in the rain gutter. But overall the rack is solid. I put a 13’ Kayak on top and it handled it like a champ. I put 16’ 4x4 and it didn’t vibrate or anything. For the price you can not beat this rack. I chose this because it is aluminum and living in Chicago I don’t want the rack to rust.
                    Very nice rack

Recieved the rack, nicely packaged. Was easy to assemble but takes some time. I ordered the optional black hardware, worth the extra cost. Install was easy, I did by myself by putting some cardboard on the roof to slide the rack on but 2 people would have really helped. The rack fit great, looks awesome and is very well made. I see it lasting as long as the truck.
                    Just what I order

True to description and worth the price. Assembly was simple enough. Hope it lasts!
                    Solid Rack!

I love this thing. Top notch roof rack. Can't wait to put a RTT on this puppy at some point. Solid construction, no vibration, and lightweight. Easy to install as well.
                    Terrible Front Farring
                    (PA) | December 31st, 2021
First want to say, I've bought several Victory 4x4 products for my FJ hands haven't had any issues. So based on my previous experience I purchased the 4Runner 3/4 roof rack. Shipping and install were good. However, once installed, the front wind faring vibrated so terribly that it was rattling against the roof and digging into the paint. This is despite the faring being positioned at its highest position with maximum clearance between the roof and the rack and all the bolts as tight as they will allow. I've never had this issue with my upTop or Expedition One roof racks.
Note From Victory 4x4: Per the instructions, the rubber on the fairing needs to be against the roof to not vibrate. You can use 3M paint protective film or similar between the rubber and paint to stop any damage from dust or dirt.
