Q Justin • 04/12/2020, 8:51:40 AM So you mount stuff to the item? It's not a 'pocket' of any kind where you can throw stuff between it and the window right? Does it come with stuff to latch items? If not, what do most guys use?
A 04/17/2020, 6:07:22 PM They are not designed to be a pocket, no. You could use Velcro straps, Nite Ize gear ties, or similar to mount things.

Q Albert • 09/11/2020, 8:49:59 AM I have third seat row option but I’m not using it. The seats are folded down. ? Can I install the window MOLLE panels?
A 09/14/2020, 3:57:08 PM The 3rd row seat option has different interior panels, so not without modification. We have not done this install at the shop, so we aren't sure how extensive those mods to your interior would be.

Great idea, mediocre execution
(WA) | July 12th, 2023
Hardware bag missing all the washers. The video instructions mention washers, but the written instructions do not. I had to hammer the OEM swaged washers off the screws, clamp them in a vise, and drill them out to fit the aftermarket screws. Video instructions for 4th gen TFR also shows a different rear hanger. Not a big deal, but c'mon. The hardware bag came with what I assume are the brackets, screws, spacers, etc (no washers!) for all generation of TFR. I get that it may be cheaper to package hardware for multiple gens, but it was a little irritating to have to find the right "long" screw mentioned in the video when there were more than 2 screw types. Maybe a bit nitpicky on this topic... Last complaint is that the panel clashes with the interior. If you ever want to uninstall this thing, there will be permanent cosmetic damage to the interior paneling from this clash. If you intend to keep it permanently, no worries there, as this clash will probably reduce vibration noise. After a 30 min install turned into MUCH longer than 30 min for the reasons above, it's pretty solid. It's functional, and I doubt it will go anywhere. It's just annoying to have paid over $200 for a few screws, brackets, and a powder coated plasma-cut panel that steals storage space for their oversized logo.
Note From Victory 4x4: David, we apologize for any confusion and any missing hardware. We will have our team verify the hardware packs and install documents.
Installation nightmare
(California) | October 20th, 2022
I bought two of these and the universal upper shelf for my 3rd gen 4Runner and the video installation makes it look so easy but it took all day. First of all, all of the screws are Allen head screws and the hardware kit does not come with a hex key. I have a million extra hex keys of different sizes and none of them fit. Not sure why they didn’t use a standard size hex but I ended up finding a bike tool that worked. The worst part was installing the nutserts. In the video the guy was able in hand tighten them and make them tight against the frame, but in reality it was impossible. There was no more thread to tighten so it would not get any tighter and the nutsert was still loose in the hole that I drilled with the included drill bit. I had to use an impact drill, there was absolutely no way to do it without the drill. After that, it was a bit easier but figuring all that out took well over 3 hours. Once I was finally able to get everything installed it’s pretty sturdy in place and I can tell it’s made with good quality, but it was a giant pain trying to install it. I would recommend either taking it somewhere to have it installed or making sure you have all the tools I mentioned above. Don’t even try to hand tighten the nutserts it won’t work.
Note From Victory 4x4: Tori, we apologize for the installation issues. Yes, nutserts can often be frustrating. All of the hardware should either use as a 5/32" or a 3/16" allen key though, which should be pretty common in most kits. Please let us know if your hardware required a different tool. If you are having any other issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team.
Not as rigid as I had expected
(Utah) | June 20th, 2022
I bought one panel to hang some essential items that i didn’t want rolling around in my vehicle in the event of an accident or emergency (fire extinguisher, first aid kit, axe, flashlight). After installing the unit I was disappointed at the amount of flex/movement in the panel and rear mounting bolt from just driving down the highway. I contacted Victory and they were responsive to my concerns. Based on their suggestions I ended up reconfiguring how all my equipment is mounted to the panel and it did somewhat help. Only time will tell on the longevity for offroad use. I think the panel is secure but don’t expect the panel to be rigid as I was hoping when purchasing.
Note From Victory 4x4: Glad the team helped you load the panel. There is always a balance between rigidity and overall weight on these products. We believe that we have built in enough capacity on this panel in the engineering, but if you have any further issues, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Good not great
| October 12th, 2020
Install is pretty straight forward, although I think I ordered the 4th gen and think I got directions for a 5th gen. Also seems like I got some different hardware than was originally intended. But it still worked. Usability is ok. The horizontal parts should be thinner as some of my molle pouches that button dont really fit properly because of how wide the horizontals are. My biggest complaint is the huge logo in the corner that takes up valuable space. I'm paying for a usable product, not to show a logo. Other than those issues I love having a molle panel in the cargo area. I have it loaded up with all kinds of quick grab items like flashlight, knife, first aid kit, blanket, hatchet, fire extinguisher.
Great idea, just wish it was vehicle specific as advertised
(Poway, CA) | November 29th, 2019
I must say that I had high expectation with this MOLLE panel. The quality is great, no issues but the top bracket did not fit at all and I could not install the panel properly. After few back and forward emails with Victory (great customer service) they told me that the brackets were not vehicle specific and that it should work as is. Problem is that there is no way that it would fit as is. I hammered the thing and made it fit...There is a strange Karma with the whole assembly, something does not feel right, maybe it is me? These panels fit driver or passenger side which is handy if you want only one. Other fabricators offer specific panels for the application with an extra bend to fit the rear window better. I think that Victory should offer side specific too as they would look better. One last thing, the mix of SAE and metric hardware... Why??
