In the second gen install, it seems to me that the back of the panel (the side closest to the tail end of the truck) would be tight up against the center console if no spacer is used. Is that the case? i.e.Is there enough clearance between the panel and console to actually use that side of the panel? And if not, could you use the spacers on that side?

California regulation requires us to put that notice on any product that may contain components that cause cancer. Since this product contains powder coat with a zinc primer, we erred on the side of caution. Technically the powder coat is a risk only when the actual powder is airborne, not after it's baked, unless you plan on eating the finish we guess... regardless, we'd rather not get sued by California.

I've got two questions: 1) What kind of holster are you showing in the advertisement pictures? and 2) It looks like there are some consistently negative reviews lately (early 2021) regarding the hardware that's included... any plans to address that?

1) There are different holsters posted, but all are just cheapies from Amazon. 2) We have had very few actual customer issues with the hardware, but some have a perception that it's not strong enough. The solution would be to source some small machine screws, washers, and nuts; then disassemble the console to install these panels with that hardware. That install would be up to the customer, but there is no downside to trying it our way first.

Left-hand draw outside the waistband Kydex holsters seem to work great.

It took about a month for the item to arrive. I will say the panels looked amazing when I opened them up. Unfortunately, the mounting hardware/design is not reliable at all. Sliding the holster in and out proved to be too complicated and simply impractical. As a solution, I hard mounted a holster to the panel but that required I buy a second holster. Which also made it so I can only mount one specific firearm to the panel. The suggestion could be made to use a universal holster but as many of us know, they’re not very secure and still have their limitations as far as securing different sized firearms. Besides the way they looked in the box, I can’t say I’ve been impressed or even satisfied. They’ve since been taken off my Tacoma.
Note From Victory 4x4: Sorry to hear about your issues, we haven't had any problems with the mounting on these at all. Even so some customers have purchased through bolts and nuts to mount them for additional security. This does requre removing the console however, so the install is more involved. Yes the belt clip slots very securly hold accessories like a hoslter as that is by design. We are sorry that you are unhappy with our product, please reach out to customer service if we can assit any further on this.
