    Victory full skids
    (CA) | September 30th, 2024
I purchased victory 4x4 skid plates about 2 years ago at this point and I feel adequately knowledgeable at this point to write a review, I will start by saying, I only just purchased the gas tank one after punching many holes in the stock skid and it finally gave out. I drive a relatively stock ride height 4th gen 4runner v8 4wd. I wheel harder than most people I know, as such, this is nothing short of a torture test for any product I put on the underside of this car. These skids have held up, I have absolutely bodied them over and over and over again, I’ve bashed the paint, taken gouges out on badge of honor trails, slammed them against boulders. All at mostly stock ride height. They have bent a bit, there are definitely some dents(shallow) and gouges in the paint, but they have taken it, in regards to install I did have it professionally done and the shop said it did cause them quite a few problems, I did ensure I had the correct skids for my specific engine type(v8 requires a different rear skid. Take this as you will but it got done and I’m more than satisfied with the performance they offer and I have immense confidence bashing them over and over on progressively harder trails, I purchased lower control arm skids as well and they are installed now as well as the full rear Molle system short of the divider(now tested and proven solid) I have confidence they will perform as the rest have up till now and intend to purchase front and rear bumpers, swing outs and the whole 9 yards from victory. Take this as you will, I wasn’t paid to say any of this, in fact I have shed many a tear over the thousands I’ve spent on this site, thanks for suffering through this essay, Visit @4the4thgen4runner on Instagram for evidence of my exploits and videos of these “tests”
    Full skids
    | November 24th, 2023
These skids are beefy taken a few good hits holding up. Getting some of the inner nuts lined up hardest part of install. Anyone had to replace a catalytic convertor? Cost of the set should pay for themselves if it a least makes them move to the next truck.
4 Runner mid skid is grand
    (California) | August 12th, 2021
I purchased the Victory Mid skid plate for my 2017 4 Runner and other than the long wait time, it was as advertised. The black powder coated aluminum went into place with ease. I kept the stock engine skid so I had to modify it so the mid skid would fit, but the instillation instructions were very clear and easy to follow. the pictures and the video was helpful as well. Overall I would recommend the Victory skid plates. I would have gotten the entire setup if I hadn't already purchased and modified a TRD front skid.

Coated steel mid plate: really impressed with the quality and precise cuts. Very good solid product!
Mid Skid Plate vs Gas Tank Skid Plate
    (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) | January 28th, 2020

    Mid skid bolt holes?
    (BC, Canada) | August 3rd, 2021
I purchased the mid skid aluminum plate and just installed it. It was shipped a few weeks past the lead time. It arrived well packaged and looked fine. I like the fact that I can keep my factory engine plate which lets me get the other skids at a later date. The install instructions were sufficient. The only issue was with the mounting holes. The front bolt holes do not match the back. So the choice was to only bolt up the front bolts or the rear bolts. But you know that this won't do. Good thing that I chose aluminum so it was less difficult to drill out the bolt holes. It was all good afterwards.
    So-so
    (Nevada) | June 18th, 2022
Product looked nice, but the bolt holes didn’t quite line up. I expect that from cheap Chinese goods, but not this. A little filing with a die grinder got me the extra 1/8” I needed. I guess I got what I paid for, since the price was OK.
Note From Victory 4x4: We apologize for the issues with the installation on the skid. Please reach out to our tech support team if you have any further problems, we would be more than happy to help troubleshoot and figure out what was wrong. Typically there is enough adjustability in the product to not have to modify any holes.
Please note: Install videos are meant to be used as a guide, and aren't always the most up to date information on product installation and improvements.
Please be sure to read the PDF installation instructions as well.
