Q Justin • 04/09/2020, 1:39:58 PM What is the weight capacity of each rail?
A 04/17/2020, 5:09:59 PM Toyota rates the factory roof rails at "Max load 165 lbs evenly distributed."
Q JIM GREGORY • 04/14/2020, 2:24:16 PM What is the load rating for one crossbar? Do you have the max load rating of 4Runner factory rails?
A 04/17/2020, 6:35:02 PM Toyota rates the factory roof rails at "Max load 165 lbs evenly distributed." We would recommend at least two of our crossbars at that weight.
Q MJ • 04/15/2020, 2:51:56 PM Hi! Could two of the crossbars be used to mount Maxtrax boards with four of their Mounting Pins? Just wanting to verify that the slot/hole spacing would be adequate left/right. Thanks.
A 04/17/2020, 7:31:50 PM The hole spacing will not work for the pins as-is. You could always modify the rails for them to fit however.
Q Joseph Zozaya • 04/16/2020, 4:34:35 PM Code: V4RRK-CS 4Runner Roof Rack Crossbar | 5th Gen (10+) How many cross bars are included in this price?
A 04/17/2020, 6:35:02 PM They are sold individually.
Q Cory • 04/16/2020, 5:52:40 PM What is the weight capacity?
A 04/17/2020, 6:35:02 PM Toyota rates the factory roof rails at "Max load 165 lbs evenly distributed."
Q Nathan Creach • 04/20/2020, 0:40:09 AM How many cross bars do you need for a tent set up?
A 04/20/2020, 3:13:59 PM A minimum of 2, but 3 can help support heavier tents.
Q bryan manning • 04/23/2020, 1:57:53 PM whats the width of these?
A 04/23/2020, 4:41:41 PM They span the stock roof rack rails.
Q Garrett Sivils • 04/27/2020, 10:44:44 AM Will these fit 2013 4Runner SR5?
A 04/27/2020, 3:26:23 PM Yes.
Q Michael • 05/02/2020, 6:08:16 PM Any chance you will make these for 4th gen 4runners? My 03 is 41 1/2 inches across. I would be very interested in a set of 3-4 of these.
A 05/04/2020, 10:07:42 AM These would be a little short for that application. Not sure if we will make 4th gen in the future or not.
Q Josh L • 05/06/2020, 10:00:04 PM If the factory rails are rated at 165lbs, how can these crossbars support a RTT that can weigh anywhere between 100-250lbs (at light end) plus the users of the tent?
A 05/07/2020, 4:02:09 PM Most roof top tents weigh between 100 and 150 lbs. Toyota's rating is on dynamic loads (driving down the highway) static loads when stopped are likely much higher. That's why people have had good luck running a RTT on their stock racks with these bars.
Q Aristotle Lazala • 05/07/2020, 11:39:57 AM Can i used this two cross bars to mount a yakima load warrior cargo on my 2018 4runner?
A 05/07/2020, 4:02:09 PM Yes
Q Bernie Quail • 05/25/2020, 6:22:16 PM I’m interested in attached for the crossbars for luggage and or cooler and a kayak and or paddle board. Where can I find these products to attach to these crossbars?
A 05/27/2020, 3:57:49 PM Sorry we don't offer anything like this. Many universal products will fit though.
Q Leslie Nehring-Redmon • 05/27/2020, 1:40:50 PM I’m trying to figure out exactly how these mount. Could you explain in a little more detail if you don’t mind? Thank you.
A 05/27/2020, 3:57:49 PM They mount with carriage head bolts inserted into the brackets shown in the photos. Those slide into the factory rails and the bars bolt to those.
Q Ethan Paul • 06/02/2020, 0:07:46 AM Do you offer a wind fairing attachment for these bars?
A 06/02/2020, 12:36:31 PM We do not.
Q Carlos • 06/17/2020, 1:08:38 AM My roof top tent weighs 175 pounds. Would I be able to put a roof top tent with these cross bars? And if yes how many of them would I need ? I have 2019 4Runner sr5
A 06/24/2020, 5:36:22 PM That is above the weight capacity of the factory rack.
Q Ginger • 06/22/2020, 10:29:06 AM I can’t find a good picture of the clearance between the crossbars and the roof. We typically carry a cargo box and it has those clamps underneath that are pretty tall until tightened down. Can you provide a picture looking over the tailgate All along the roof with the crossbars installed?
A 06/24/2020, 5:36:22 PM Not much clearance in the middle .75" to 1"
Q Jonathan Dearth • 06/30/2020, 5:58:56 PM Where are the instructions to properly mount these to the vehicle? Mine came with none. Im sure it is fairly straight forward however, there may be something I am not aware of here so instruction sheet would be awesome.
A 07/01/2020, 10:08:43 AM Just added those instructions. They are on the product page.
Q Jeff Steffens • 07/06/2020, 12:20:42 PM I saw one question answered said you have about 1" in the middle of clearance between roof and crossbar. What is the measurement closer to the sides? I have a Yakima surfboard rack and would want to mount that to these crossbars but want to make sure it will clear. Thank you
A 07/07/2020, 2:39:07 PM Closer to 2" of clearance.
Q Rob • 07/07/2020, 10:11:37 PM Is this compatible on the 2020 4runners roof rails? I see some other manufacturers not being compatible with the 2020 4runners.
A 07/15/2020, 1:48:15 PM While there is a part number change in 2019 for the factory rack, we haven't seen any issues on compatibility.
Q Carlo • 07/08/2020, 3:39:39 PM What's the weight of a single crossbar?
A 07/15/2020, 1:48:15 PM 7 (lbs)
Q RYAN • 08/22/2020, 9:25:41 PM Do the 4 elevator bolts and 4 lock nuts come with each bar ordered?
A 08/26/2020, 9:25:38 AM Yes.
Q Démô Barnété • 08/24/2020, 5:48:48 AM If I were to start building a roof rack system that consisted of all Victory4x4 parts. Could I purchase these rails to get me started and then add the side rails, front wind fairing, back fairing and 40• light bar later on??
A 08/26/2020, 9:17:14 AM You could not. These crossbars are designed to work with the factory rails and are different from those used in our full racks.
Q Randy Harris • 08/27/2020, 11:45:48 AM Will these work on a GX 460 2010-2020?
A 09/03/2020, 9:00:28 AM They will not.
Q Ien • 08/28/2020, 7:30:12 AM Each one can hold 165lb, so I need two or three to hold roof tent ? The tent is 190lb. Can you send me more picture about this product after installed, I try to figure out how big the space between the roof top to this rock. Can I put hands and tool in ?
A 09/14/2020, 4:09:50 PM The factory roof is rated at 165 lbs dynamic. Adding more of these rails does not change that number. To our knowledge Toyota does not publish the static load rating.
Q Zach • 09/13/2020, 6:09:55 PM Are these compatible with a 2020 Liimted?
A 09/14/2020, 4:02:23 PM Yes.
Q Jonathan Rangel • 09/22/2020, 6:36:31 PM Do these make a lot of noise?
A 09/24/2020, 11:01:43 AM No
Q Corey • 10/03/2020, 10:09:11 PM Will these work for a TRD Pro (‘18) model?
A 10/06/2020, 2:10:22 PM We have not tested that.
Q T G • 10/12/2020, 5:39:17 PM Do you know of compatible ski racks? Would they work with Yakima Might Mounts like these: https://yakima.com/products/universal-mightymount-set-of-4 ?
A 10/16/2020, 3:25:50 PM We haven't tested those mounts, but it looks like they will work great. If so, that would be a great way to mount a ski rack.
Q Kyle • 10/24/2020, 7:40:22 PM Will these cross bars have enough clearance for Yakima or Thule cargo box? Currently both brands recommend replacing OEM crossbars with new towers and crossbars mounted on the existing raised side rails. 2010 Toyota 4Runner SR5
A 10/26/2020, 5:00:50 PM There probably isn't enough clearance under these bars for the quick release clamps. But if you could direct bolt the boxes to these bars it could work great.
Q Kyle • 10/26/2020, 7:53:59 AM How many do you recommend I have 2 stock obviously but would 3 of these distribute weight better? or is it overkill?
A 10/26/2020, 5:00:50 PM 2 will handle more capacity than the factory rack can. 3 will help with flex depending on what you are mounting up there.
Q Adam Bodkins • 10/29/2020, 11:20:31 AM What is the most common quantity used when you’re seeing people order ? I know I’ll be modifying them to accept my max tracks but I also wonder about being able to put my solar panel up as well but would want a uniform look
A 11/03/2020, 4:03:33 PM We see 2-3 pretty often.
Q David • 11/16/2020, 8:38:21 PM Will a Rhino Rack Ski/Snowboard carrier work with this on a 5th gen 4runner.
A 11/23/2020, 11:48:44 AM We haven't tried that mount specifically. It looks like will work as long as the lower mounts fit between the roof and the rack bars, or if they won't you may need to bolt it directly to the bars somehow.
Q Jonathan • 11/18/2020, 8:58:05 PM When laying a surfboard or paddle board directly flat on the racks do they hit the shark fin antenna?
A 11/23/2020, 11:28:19 AM You will most likely need to space the boards up to clear the sharkfin.
Q Daniel • 12/13/2020, 2:52:26 PM Will these work for 4th Gen factory rails? 2008 limited 4runner v8
A 12/15/2020, 1:34:26 PM We have only tested them on 10+
Q Megan • 12/21/2020, 5:53:30 PM Hi, what are the dimensions of the rack? I’m wanting to attach the Kuat switch rack and want to be sure the thickness and width work. Thank you!
A 12/23/2020, 5:37:41 PM The bars themselves are roughly 3" x 1" x 40" long
Q Larry Brown • 12/22/2020, 7:02:38 PM I see the bar width is 3". What is the bar height? Thanks.
A 12/23/2020, 5:37:41 PM 1"
Q Connor Chapman • 01/03/2021, 10:26:19 PM I want to buy these to mount Maxtrax/rotopax. Are the predrilled holes designed for these mounts? If not what are they designed for?
A 01/25/2021, 11:34:30 AM Our newest revision of these bars that is now shipping has expanded the usefulness of the slots. Including spacing for traction board mounting and Rotopax.
Q Timothy Lynn • 01/14/2021, 6:28:59 AM Do you recommend a single kayak mount that works with these rails?
A 01/15/2021, 6:07:12 PM We haven't tried anything specifically, but they are meant to be pretty universal.
Q Sandy • 01/28/2021, 10:46:34 PM The rails on the bottom of my rtt is 36 inches apart. Can I use your rtt mounting bracket with these bars to mount my rtt? Are the perforations in the bars spaced in such way to allow for that?
A 02/02/2021, 12:30:16 PM Using our RTT brackets the max mounting width is about 33" you could mount the tent directly the bars with a 36" mounting width however. It would be more difficult to actually tighten the mounts depending on your tents clearance and mount style.
Q Larry • 02/05/2021, 11:42:55 AM will these fit on my 2021 trail with the yakima rack taken off
A 02/15/2021, 12:52:47 PM Should be no problem.
Q Jess Whitney • 02/18/2021, 10:48:30 AM I have a 2015 trail (older trail) Will these work?
A 02/22/2021, 9:31:55 AM Yes, they will.
Q Jay • 02/19/2021, 10:30:40 PM Can these crossbars carry the weight of a 165lb RTT mounted on stock factory rails?
A 03/01/2021, 3:13:17 PM The bars can handle the tent yes, the factory rails have held up OK to the weight in our experience, but please use your discretion.
Q Jason Joyner • 03/04/2021, 11:08:50 PM Ad says wont work with Trail Ed 4runners. Why is that? I have a 2016 Trail.
A 03/05/2021, 9:28:04 AM Updated the description. It will work on a 2016 Trail! 10-13 Trail Editions had a different roof rack.
Q Jeffrey Pardun • 03/15/2021, 8:09:13 AM What are these made of? Aluminum or steel?
A 03/16/2021, 3:46:53 PM CNC cut and formed from .188" steel.
Q Nate T. • 03/16/2021, 1:32:39 AM Is there a bracket for mounting an iKamper RTT to these crossbars? Or any suggestions how to?
A 03/16/2021, 3:46:53 PM We have nothing specific, but most RTTs are meant to mount pretty universally.
Q sean green • 03/26/2021, 8:48:26 AM Victory 4x4- Can you tell me the height of the 4Runner Roof Rack Crossbar-5th gen? 40-3/8" x 3" x ?? Thank you for your time and energy. Sean
A 04/02/2021, 1:31:55 PM They are 1" tall.
Q Reuben • 04/06/2021, 2:02:37 PM Do you guys have plans to make a wind fairing add-on for the cross-bars? Looking at these vs the some other bundle options (ex., from LFD off road) and the fairing is the biggest difference I can see
A 04/12/2021, 1:13:17 PM No plans at this time.
Q Fred • 04/21/2021, 0:10:28 AM Can i mount X-bull traction boards ? does whole width and location of them fits ? Thank you!
A 04/21/2021, 2:11:12 PM We haven't tested that brand specifically, but you should at least be able to use one mounting hole front and rear on the traction boards without drilling.
Q Jerome Confesor • 04/26/2021, 9:32:57 AM Hello, so 1 crossbar supports 165lbs. If you have 2 it should support 330lbs and so on? If I have a RTT that weighs 160lbs, would it be safe to put in on 3 crossbars? Thank you.
A 04/28/2021, 5:26:15 PM The factory roof rack is rated to support 165 max. Beyond that is really at your discretion.
Q Andrew Copeland • 04/26/2021, 9:59:46 PM Will these bars with your roof rack accessory mount work to mount maxtrax with their mounting pins?
A 04/28/2021, 5:26:15 PM Can mount the Maxtrax directly to bars with the mounting pins.
Q Brad • 05/02/2021, 10:38:18 AM Would these work on a 2006 GX470? If not, do you have a product that would? I want the flat bars across instead of the curved ones they come with.
A 05/05/2021, 1:19:38 PM They do not work on the GX. We don't have a part that will at this time.
Q sean • 05/04/2021, 9:23:48 PM will these work with your awning brackets to mount an arb awning and also hold some jerry cans? i have a 2021 4runner
A 05/05/2021, 1:30:47 PM Our awning brackets are not designed for these bars, just our full replacement racks.
Q Jenny • 06/06/2021, 12:02:10 PM Can you make these for 4th gen 4runners?
A 06/11/2021, 3:00:33 PM We only offer the 5th gen ones for now.
Q Carl sidwell • 06/07/2021, 12:24:40 PM Will these clear a Line X bedline coating? I’m wanting to do a coating on my roof. I’m also curious to know if these bars will mount up to your side mounts. Thanks in advance
A 06/11/2021, 3:00:33 PM It will clear fine. None of our side mounts are compatible with these bars however.
Q Jose Can • 06/16/2021, 5:01:56 PM Would this fit my 4th gen 4runner?
A 06/25/2021, 12:04:58 PM No they will not.
Q JG • 07/22/2021, 9:30:44 AM Are these cross rails compatible with the Yakima sky rise tent? Also will there be enough clearance from the tent attachments to car roof?
A 07/23/2021, 11:15:25 AM Yes, that will work fine.

4th gen option?
Christopher Canterbury (AK) | May 19th, 2021
Just installed 3 of these on my 2020 4Runner, and they are fantastic! Super easy to install, they are designed beautifully to just clear the side rails so you can load stuff over them, but not high enough to create any drag or noise. Nice and quiet. They are strong as heck and plenty of predrilled holes...some accommodating a 3/8" bolt and some slightly smaller for 5/16" or 1/4" bolts. Such an economical and more practical option over roof racks that require removal of the OEM rails. My sunfroof slides back completely under them, too. Great product, and I'm very pleased with the look of them, too.
Andrey (Oregon) | March 30th, 2021
Must have for RTT. Very sturdy bars, well made. These are low profile rails, which is my preference (although it makes dealing with RTT hardware harder, i still prefer low profile bars). Installation was super intuitive, took less than an hour to install. Customer service is top notch, i was worried about getting my rails before my short notice trip, sent a message to victory, and they shipped it in a couple of days giving me enough time to install crossbars and RTT.
Kirk (TX) | February 17th, 2021
This solved so many issues at a fraction of the price I was expecting. A new roof rack will run you pretty much $1,000 and up. This simply take the already capable roof rails and turns them into a strong roof rack with tons of access points for locking stuff down. These work great.
BIG MIKE (GA) | January 28th, 2021
After exhaustive research, I decided on these crossbars and they fit the bill and my new 4Runner perfectly. I wanted a flat rack for the vehicle to provide flexibility to attach all sorts of stuff and bought 3 and will consider gettting a 4th. I was surprised to find the elevator bolts with the order (may want to include that info somewhere on the listing). AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AMERICAN INGENUITY AT ITS BEST!!!
Pamibaga (Seattle) | January 21st, 2021
It barely took a week before it arrived. It was easy to install. The coating is beautiful. It looks very natural and it is very strong. You can probably stack another car on these (At least a Sedan lol). I did not notice any wind noise, but I could hear a little humming noise if I really try and pay attention to it. The best crossbar your can get for your 4runner! Also, the customer service is just too good. They solve issues faster than the speed of light!
B D (CA) | January 15th, 2021
I started with factory cross bars and took them back to the dealer because they looked like the would snap under stress. Then I tried one of those major brands (named after a city in Washington state) and was disgusted with how insecure they were due to a rubber strap design. I bought these and had them installed in 20 minutes. Third time was a charm. These are an amazing piece of American ingenuity. Well done Victory 4x4!. I have complete confidence in these and now when I haul Canoe or Kayaks or anything else I won't have to worry about them. Nice and secure. And look like they will last a few 100,000 miles!
T G (USA) | November 4th, 2020
I like them so far. Easy to install. Much more useful than the stock cross bars. Saves me from having to buy something to hold my sand boards. so already paying for themselves.
Dylan Fairweather (Seattle) | November 3rd, 2020
I have to say I did a ton of research (reading forums, checking different manufacturers, comparing crossbars) before I purchased and I finally settled on these. I’m so glad I did. First of all the quality of the bars stand out instantly. The power coating is beautiful. Secondly the install is a breeze. One a the main reasons I ordered these besides the price (which is great) was that people said there was no road noise. I did notice slight road noise at first but after a adjustment to there placement and some time I don’t notice the noise anymore. If you’re looking for great crossbars I highly recommend these.
Benjamin (Wi) | October 12th, 2020
Super strong, look great, easy to install! I reccomend nothing else!
