Top notch slider/step combo
| September 16th, 2019
Contacted the folks at Victory and ordered my Strike sliders. Great folks and easy to work with; lead time was a couple weeks after order due to powder coating. Had them freight delivered, packaging was amazing and not a single blemish anywhere. All hardware was included + some extra bolts. Nothing complicated on install but definitely need 2 people as they are heavy. Added to a 2015 4runner LE (already did the trail rocker swap) and they fit tight against the body. Everything lined up nicely (I had already removed XREAS so no hard lines to deal with) Although I won't use them often for their slider capability, I would have zero qualms about their strength. They extend just enough from the body to make a perfect step while still protecting my doors and underside from road debris. Absolutely would recommend to anyone in the market for a slider/step combo. They are beefy and definitely well-built! 5 stars from me. Still looking like new after months of driving and some mild offroading. Thanks guys!
Sliders for 2020 4R

I love your guy's products... As I read the reviews I noticed one individual had the same issue on install of the drivers side... A couple of hole were off a bit and required some light modding... passenger side was easy pesy. I did contact you guys on this and you did say you checked your jigs... Other than that still love your products and videos.

I really wanted to like these sliders…but you get what you pay for. Bolt holes don’t line up with frame holes and they don’t sit level. I don’t buy “bolt on” and then expect the need to grind anything bigger to get a bolt hole aligned. I would have accepted the bolt issue if they at least sat level. They are fairly “beefy” tho, so three stars for the protection factor. I have a Victory 4x4 roof rack still in the box…and it will stay in the box. I just don’t want to deal with anymore potential “modifications” on that thing.
Note From Victory 4x4: Nick, please reach out to our tech support team and we can help you with this installation.
Good, but required a little modification

Like another reviewer mentioned, when I installed the sliders, the 4 holes on the front angled support plate on the drivers side were way off. Couldn't get a single bolt in without throwing everything else out of whack, so I had to dremel them out to get it to work. Having said that, I do really like the sliders and would recommend them (and have recommended them) to people looking for sliders that also function as steps. The passenger side installed without any issue. They seem really solid and good quality (other than the issue mentioned above). They haven't taken a hard hit yet so I can't speak to that, but I love the look and the function. I did choose to go with bare metal and paint them myself, which I regret, so I would suggest paying extra for the powder coat, but that's just me.
Note From Victory 4x4: Hey Tyler, thanks for the review and sorry for the issue! Our engineering team is checking that jig as we speak and will make any necessary repairs if they find an issue. If we can help you any further with your install please get ahold of our tech support team.
Required modification to fit

Overall I am happy with the look of the sliders so far but I haven’t really tested their strength. I had to drill a couple holes because they were about a 1/4 inch off and had to dremel a few more. Basically every hole on the front support on the drivers side needed work along with one on the middle support. I offered to send pictures to victory 4x4 so maybe they could improve it for future customers but they showed no interest which is the main reason for the negative review.
Note From Victory 4x4: Jacob, thanks for the report on the install. I can assure you that our tech support team let our engineering team know of your issues, photos were not necessary, but we appreciate you offering to send them. Sorry about the issues on the install. We sometimes (yet rarely) see variances between frames that are on the opposite side of tolerances of our sliders. If there is anything else we can help with, please don't hesitate to reach out.
