Q D • 03/25/2020, 7:16:14 PM What is the lead time? Does it hold the 4.5 gallon fuelpax?
A 04/06/2020, 1:46:00 PM They were designed to handle the 2 gallon Rotopax.
Q Andrew Ott • 03/27/2020, 1:39:07 AM How far does this extend from the rear gate? I have a single tire swing out and want to make sure the tire will clear the ladder.
A 04/06/2020, 1:46:00 PM It extends a maximum of about ~10" off the gate.
Q Colt • 03/27/2020, 11:31:38 PM will this work with both swing outs installed?
A 04/06/2020, 1:46:00 PM No, but we do offer a bolt on ladder for our left swing out. Part number VTC-LDR-PC (https://www.victory4x4.com/product/VTC-LDR-PC.html)
Q Marcos Hernandez • 03/28/2020, 6:12:39 AM Is there a jerry can attachment available for this? Single? or Dual?
A 04/06/2020, 1:46:00 PM It is designed for a single Rotopax mount and 2 Gallon Rotopax can.
Q Hiroshi Thomas • 03/28/2020, 1:14:49 PM How much weight can the ladder support?
A 04/06/2020, 3:16:26 PM We have tested it at 250 static weight. We don't recommend much more than 40 lbs or so dynamic.
Q KYLE • 05/12/2020, 2:00:33 PM Heads up, the links to the stronger shocks, I don't believe are for a 4runner, When I find shocks on their website it gives a different product -> https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/lift-support-with-pm3891-w/ . It appears both of your links may be pointing to the wrong place
A 05/15/2020, 1:52:09 PM We are suggesting struts from a non 4Runner fitment.
Q Brad • 05/28/2020, 2:50:12 AM What mounts do I need to add the rotopax to my ladder?
A 06/01/2020, 10:08:59 AM You would just need a RotoPax PAX Mount.
Q Rob • 05/28/2020, 12:35:11 PM Does it work with the Ecotechne Roof Rack?
A 06/01/2020, 10:08:59 AM We have not tested it with that rack, but this ladder is designed to not take up much more clearance than the factory hatch sheet metal.
Q Kevin • 06/08/2020, 7:55:12 PM what is the weight capacity? I am 320lb will it hold me climbing up half way to load gear on the roof rack? thanks
A 06/10/2020, 4:43:34 PM We've had 375ish up there to see how it flexes and it seems to be just fine. We don't have any long term testing on this, nor do we know how this will affect the hatch. The capacity of this rack would be at your own discretion.
Q Jason • 07/31/2020, 7:06:51 PM 2007 4Runner with NO Spoiler on the hatch. Is the top mount different for a 4runner with no spoiler than the one shown in the install video?
A 08/05/2020, 11:01:24 AM The ladder includes both style mounts.
Q Ramzi • 11/17/2020, 6:11:02 PM What is the max dynamic weight this can hold? Can a bike fork mount be added?
A 11/23/2020, 11:48:44 AM We would not recommend hanging a bike off from it just because of the leverage.
Q Ron • 01/10/2021, 0:38:13 AM The photos have the ladder going both over and under the spoiler. Is there an option for both? I have a spoiler and would like the ladder to go over it.
A 01/14/2021, 11:34:38 AM The 4th Gen ladder mount goes under the spoiler, the 5th Gen goes over the spoiler.
Q Jt • 01/30/2021, 3:44:28 AM Could you mount a spare tire to this ladder?
A 02/02/2021, 12:30:16 PM No
Q Yoana • 04/07/2021, 10:39:06 PM Hi! I just got a UPTOP bravo roof rack installed 5th gen 4runner. Would this be compatible with it? Or does it not interfere with the rack at all when installing? -Thanks in advance!
A 04/12/2021, 1:13:17 PM Based on the assumption that the ladder in the uptop overland product photos clears, it looks like ours will clear as well.
Q Phillip Napoletan • 04/22/2021, 6:42:22 PM Does the 5th generation back hatch ladder have a foam padding or foam adhesive recommended at installation for a more snug fit to absorb assorted vibration? Thank you.
A 04/28/2021, 6:16:52 PM The top mount includes 3m adhesive tape.
Q Richard • 05/27/2021, 10:20:51 PM Hi! Will this ladder work with a Prinsu roof rack?
A 06/04/2021, 10:30:55 AM Yes

Write a Product Review: 4Runner Hatch Ladder | 4th & 5th Gen 2003+
David Nielsen (Montana) | July 16th, 2021
Works great, extremely sturdy and rigid, fitment and design are excellent. Fits well with the full roof rack. Only gripe was the install - needed to install the bottom plate first in order to get it flush with the hatch so it could close. additionally, the recommended hatch lift supports on the Q&A section are incorrect. From that same company, you will want part #PM3489 for the correct additional weight lift support (for 244lbs)

Overall impressed with the quality. The ladder itself has a pretty killer looking design. However, the top plate moves forward and contacts the body. I reinstalled it with fresh 3m tape and got some touch up paint applied but it began to do the same thing shortly after. Regardless I am still very happy with the purchase.
Note From Victory 4x4: Paul, please reach out to our team and we can help troubleshoot. The 3M VHB should be holding it, is it slipping on the paint or on the rack itself? You my have some wax residue on the paint that is limiting the bond.

This ladder is well made, installs easily and is a fab addition to my 4Runner. My only complaint....getting it out of the box with the injected styrofoam took longer than the install. No joke. It shipped well but sucked getting it out of the box. You should have seen the mess. Lol You won’t be disappointed with the ladder, once out of the box

like others Have said the tape is under par for me after initial install the 1st step the latter moved side to side the top bracket Can be designed a little better to grip the hatch at an appropriate angle I also recommend dumping the provided tape and getting automotive double sided and he sieve strips. When you order your ladder order the heavy duty struts as well. Over all you can't be the pricing and the quality of the product I'm very happy with the and will enjoy it for some time
Note From Victory 4x4: We are evaluating the tape in the kit and will be upgrading it. Thanks for the honest review!

Let me start with the good stuff because it far outways the bad. The look with my SS Offroad rack is exactly what I was going for. The powder coating was nice fully coated and smooth. The welds were flawless, and the directions were perfect. Now for the bad, while the engineering "hooked and taped" plate is a solid idea (just like the Gobi ladder) the 3M tape is definitely not the right tape. USE 3M AUTOMOTIVE DOUBLE SIDED TAPE (Black with red peel from auto store). I will have to uninstall my ladder today (the day after initial install) in order to place automotive 3M tape. W/O using quality tape the top plate will slide and pinch in the top when the trunk lid is opened. I will also apply 3M tape between all contact points to ensure full secured contact. Lastly, I would advice using some clear sealer for the drilled holes in the bottom of the trunk lid to protect from leakage. Hope this Helps! LOVE THE LADDER! HATE THE TAPE!
