First off I love the way your products look. I was wondering if you sell the mounting brackets for the rack separately?
A
02/22/2021, 1:48:55 PM
Thank you! We do not sell them separately.

Can you walk on the roof rack?
A
03/08/2021, 1:18:58 PM
Yes, although the individual bars do flex. If you wanted to frequently walk on it, adding a floor of some sort would spread the load better.

That tent is fine, from our current research the roof on your '01 is the same as the '03+, so it also should work great.

Can you not install certain crossbars in order to leave space for a roof vent?
A
04/28/2021, 5:26:15 PM
Yes, but the bars to support the structure on the side rails, so we wouldn't recommend leaving more than one out really.

Visually & Functionally this rack looks very appealing. The low profile is a big plus considering most racks are 6" off the roof of the van. My questions are: What is the center to center spacing of the crossbars? What is the width (top) of the crossbars? How far down are the crossbars from the side rails, if I wanted/needed to mount a floor? How many crossbars are included with the standard length van rack? Thanks
A
06/11/2021, 3:30:03 PM
10.5” center to center, 54” wide, 3/8” down, 12 bars are incldued.

I just ordered one for my 2012 Express 1500 and had a question about the gutter mount brackets. Do they have to be specifically mounted where pictured or can they be moved to anywhere that articulates with a rail. I would like to put a side ladder on and want to be sure I can mount both.
A
07/08/2021, 2:01:38 PM
Their locations have been designed with the loads of the roof rack in mind.

Can I fit thule and/or yakima accessories on the crossbars? Like for example, could I add a thule rooftop box or would I need some kind of adaptor?
A
08/12/2021, 4:01:01 PM
Many of those accessories work. We would contact the accessory manufacturer and ask if the product you are looking at works with a 2"x 1" square crossbar.
Q

Is this compatible with roof vents/fans? I have a maxair fan on my roof.
A

There is about an 1" between the crossbars and the roof, but you could remove a crossbar if it was in the way.

First off I would like to say thank you Victory for making a roof rack that fits a Chevy/GMC van. I have had mine for over two years and enjoyed it very much. Mine may have been the second one manufactured ....For a market that really does not cater much to the Chevy/GMC van overland community its been a joy to have a stylish looking roof rack. Looks much better than the few competitors racks that are available. It is very versatile and the accessories that I have purchased from Victory have been awesome additions to the system. When I have had any questions I have received a quick response with solutions that have been helpful. If your are in the market do not hesitate its well worth the investment if your going to use it like it should. Thank you again Victory for a spectacular product that looks Kick Ass!!!
Note From Victory 4x4: Thanks Dustin!

I have a 2018 Express extended body so finding racks for this is challenging. There is at least one on the market that is welded but the original cost plus shipping was steep. This one arrives flat packed in a few boxes. Everything assembled properly per the instructions. For some reason I ended up with a ton of extra hardware (60 or 80 additional bolts, washers, nuts, etc.) some of which were not for this rack. They have been useful though for other projects. The rack is assembled in two pieces and then lifted onto the roof. This was mildly challenging with two adults and two ladders. Having the ability to move a little more side to side while you install would be useful so perhaps setup some rudimentary scaffolding or some type of platform rather than just using a ladder. The brackets that attach the rack to the rain gutter were a little tricky but some patience and a rubber mallet (recommended by instructions) we were eventually able to get each of these to seat properly. The sealant in the gutters is not even so you have to wrestle with everything to get it attached solidly. The brackets will seat into the gutter with the right amount of effort. The only real issue I have run into is the front fairing. The instructions state that you need to push it down agains the roof as much as possible to avoid vibration. It is currently set as low as possible given the cutouts in the side pieces where the fairing mounts. It is also touching the roof in some spots, although the shape does not allow for a tight fit. The fairing vibrates horribly at 60+ mph. It sounds like a lawn mower or something on the roof. The fairings are made from the same material as the sides which is easily flexible until the cross beams are installed. However, the fairings only get bolted on the ends so this large flat pieces of metal easily bows and flexes by hand or with the wind. The only solution I can come up with is to try and bolt a piece of angle across the back to reduce the flex. This should be included with the rack because the fairing vibration is a weak point in an otherwise nice roof rack setup.
Note From Victory 4x4: Christopher, please reach out to our tech support team and we can help with that front fairing adjustment.
