Q Bob • 03/25/2020, 9:08:09 PM Can you tell me the capacity of the rack, while driving and parked. Ty
A 04/06/2020, 1:46:00 PM Toyota rates the 4Runner roof with a factory rack at "Max load 165 lbs evenly distributed." Our rack itself can handle significantly more weight than that, and we've had 250 lbs dynamic weight on it without issue, static capacity is certainly well above that. All these weight will be at your discretion as they are above Toyota "recommended" capacities. If you need more information please contact us directly at [email protected]
Q Jordan • 03/26/2020, 8:46:22 AM How does the factory factory rail length work out with roof top tents or 270 degree awnings? Will most accessories work with the rails such as bicycle fork mounts?
A 04/17/2020, 5:09:59 PM Both lengths racks work great with all of those things. The full length rack just gives you room for more than a standard size RTT.
Q Jonathan Stein • 04/02/2020, 1:08:29 PM Do you need to use your cross bars to install? If so, how many cross bars for half and full rack?
A 04/06/2020, 2:43:37 PM The 3/4 rack comes with 5 bars, the full length comes with 8. Yes, the rack is designed around our specific cross bars.
Q AARON M LUCAS • 04/07/2020, 1:06:40 AM If I wanted to order the lightbar cutout front fairing after the fact, could I?
A 04/17/2020, 5:09:59 PM You would have to call us, but yes it is available separately.
Q BRANDON • 04/07/2020, 4:16:59 PM WOULD THIS BE COMPATIBLE WITH A SMITTYBILT OVERLANDER TENT? OR WOULD THERE BE A WAY TO GET A RACK MADE SO THAT THE CROSSBARS ARE EVEN WITH THE SIDE RAILS FOR THE TENT TO SET LEVEL?
A 04/17/2020, 5:09:59 PM That tent mounts pretty universally, so it should fit fine.

I purchased this rack a few months ago after thoroughly researching what was available for my new 4runner. After a 3000 mile trip through Colorado, Utah and New Mexico with my RTT on top, I can confidently state that the rack performed perfectly. Even while doing the 160 mile Rim Rocker Trail, the rack never made a sound. My son can't say the same thing about his more expensive SSO rack. After the first couple of days he stated that he wished he had bought a Victory. Excellent service and an excellent product...who could ask for more.

The rack came packaged well, and all parts were present. Easy to assemble. You can assemble it by yourself, but definitely get help putting the rack onto your 4Runner. I would also say almost zero wind noise. I’m really happy with it, especially compared to value and price compared to other racks out there.

I had recently purchased my 2017 4Runner TRD Off Road and needed a roofrack that would hold my rooftop tent that I used on a bedrack on my 2004 Tacoma. Of course I had to research about every option available. After getting some reviews on a couple of Facebook pages from some owners of various racks, I chose the Victory 4x4 rack. Several factors pointed me to that choice; looks, price, no drill mount and Victory is a Michigan-based company. I found a combination the video install and the paper copy included to both help with the process. It went on pretty easily in a couple hours. It makes very little noise while travelling on the freeway too. Another plus. The only issue I have had was mounting the rooftop tent to the rack. Had I known they were going to be that helpful when mounting the tent, I would have just ordered them with the rack when I did. Otherwise, after several months of use, I can highly recommend the full-length roof rack.

First what I love: I love the look of this rack and frankly it is the best looking full length rack out the for the 5th Gen IMO. Shipping was way faster than I expected as I got the rack in less than 3 weeks! Assembly we a piece of cake. Install was also very easy. Had the wife help me get it on the car and I was able to manage the rest. What I don't love. Because it is a no drill rack you will have to adjust the front of the rack multiple times if you have anything heavy up front. I am carrying a spare right up front and occasionally the rack will bounce and knock on the roof even with the rubber feet. I finally cured this by lifting the front of the rack with a small block and readjusting the feet so they have downward pressure at all times to accommodate the flex and bouncing. Also one corner of the side rails had a pretty sloppy weld that was like a bubble and ugly but it was not structurally faulty and no one else will really notice so I just rolled with it. Finally a few of the mounting hardware nuts ended up stripping from all the adjusting and when I emailed about buying replacement silver hardware I got no reply. I don't want to spend $40+ on the black hardware pack and I may have to source separate hardware if I don't hear back soon. Overall this is a solid rack and I would recommend it to anyone. Love the look and fit!

I didn't realize just how much this roof rack would change the look of my 2005 4runner, and it sure looks good! The install was really straight forward and easy. The overall quality of the rack is very high, and Its structural strength is superior.

Great product and customer service. Ordered on 6/19 and delivered 7/8. Received both boxes however the hardware was missed. Called the customer service line and they sent hardware out the next day.

I've been running this rack for almost a year now, it's sturdy and reliable and works great with my Smittybilt Overlander XL gen 2 tent. My biggest complaint is the lack of lateral rigidity or dampening, when it snows the rack vibrates so loud you have to raise your voice to have a conversation with your passenger. I contacted Victory4x4 and was asked to submit a video which I did. They came back and said they didn't have a solution and to let them know if I figured something out. For the price I paid I would have appreciated more support. As winter approaches I will have to spend additional money to modify the rack and engineer a solution. I'm probably going to mount some aluminum angle brackets along the length of the underside of the extrusions. I estimate it will cost another $60+ dollars plus time to be able to drive without vibrations throughout the snowy Colorado winters. Next time I get a rack I will have to do more research and determine if other aluminum extrusion racks have the same problems. The rack is mounted to my 2004 4Runner Sport Edition 4WD.

I do like this rack - and I looked at arguably 95% of them out there. i love the fact I didn;t have to drill new holes through the roof. It is admittedly probably overkill for my use. I find that I'm hauling lumber a lot more, unfortunately, than overlanding gear. It looks handsome, and although I have yet to fully research all that 80/20 accessories have to offer, it seems like the modifications are endless. I find myself often having to tie things down to the side rails. My one suggestion for improvement, if Victory wants this sort of thing, is to somehow make the rail cut-outs' inside edges less sharp. No doubt that they will slice though taut rope tied through them. I solved it by fashioning a multitude of short swedged- 3/16" cable slings with thimbles which I feed through the cut-outs, then tie-off rope to the slings. I suppose I could use an 80/20 eye fastener tie off to, but I like a cleaner look and not leaving random stuff up there during everyday use. Cheers. Also, I popped for the optional black hardware kit, which I totally recommend.

Easy to install, light material, low profile, reasonable price, durable rack, looks great and one happy costumer here.

I absolutely love the roof rack. I purchased the full length with light bar cutout. I paired it with a extreme LED CD series stealth single row cree led. I had to do some minor adjustments to get rid of the insane wind noise. If you encounter this lower the rack as much as possible. I gave about .25" of clearance. This rack looks absolutely amazing on my metallic silver 2016 off road. The black is a great looking powder coat. I will say I've noticed a little wear in a few weeks however it's because I'm adjusting the bars. Would possibly be my only complaint. I've never gone back to a website to leave a review. Amazon sure why not. But I have made 2 big purchases from Victory 4x4 (the other being the hidden winch front bumper) and I believe my 4runner will be a victory 4x4 only 4runner by the time I'm done. I will reccomend I will buy again I will will enjoy this ad long as I can. Great customer service Cannot recommend them enough
